Wetsuit, bike and Me.

Well here I am, about 7 weeks away from My little 1/2 Ironman (70.3) in Oceanside, Ca. Wetsuit fits good, Bike rolls good and shoes are new, what more could a guy ask for ? Yesterday on my run as I was french kissing my shotblok I figured I was well on my way to completing this race. I felt that I have been training for this since 2003. Endurance of eight marathons and a little help from the RA fairies that taught me that true pain is to the bone and I have yet to feel this in any training or race so far. In 2003 I was very sick and was a good candidate for medical testing, at 14.5 mg of methotrexate and other drugs that I was taking at the time. I would have never thought in my wildest dreams that in 2010 an IRONMAN and I’m now testing not meds but high end running shoes. A strong mindset makes all the difference in the world, I do know what it means to LIVE STRONG !!!

Your mind says yes and it works, your mind say no and you fail.

Ran a good run. At marathon # 6 in 2008 I was a 14 GU and shot block fene and if I ran with no gu or shot blocks during any training I would have ran burned out only after a few miles. Now I run 14 miles with no GU or shot blocks and only because I changed my mind on the whole Gu thing. If our minds are on our side we win if not we fail, a simple thought can change everything and maybe keep my teeth from falling out from all that sugar.
